Another weather alert covering a large portion of southern Ontario again today, but not for snow. This time it's for freezing rain. Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for most of the GTHA, while areas Newmarket in Aurora are under a special weather statement. So we'll see freezing rain mixed with snow or ice pellets. It is expected to be slippery. Keep in mind, school buses in York Region with both the Catholic and public board are canceled today, but the schools are open. Whoopsie, they wanted employees back in the office, but they forgot how much space they actually had. Premier Ford said the province is working on the issue of a lack of office space to accommodate the government workers who returned en masse. Ford said he believes the issue will get sorted out. The president of OpsU said the mandate is ridiculous and insulting, saying there's been no deterioration in service. Hot Country Sports, NBA last night, Raptors beat Atlanta 118-100. They're in Charlotte tomorrow at 7. At the World Junior Hockey Championships, Canada wins bronze after a 6-3 victory over Finland. In the gold medal game, Sweden beat Czechia for the title. Leafs were off last night. They host Florida Tonight at 7.30, and the PWHL will see the Toronto Scepters host New York at 7. Hot country weather. We're under a special weather statement with freezing rain possible. Now we are expected to see snow mixed with freezing rain and ice pellets.
