A Lindsay man accused of assaulting a home intruder last August has had his charges withdrawn. The Crown now says after reviewing the circumstances of the case and requirements for self-defense under the criminal code, there is no longer a reasonable prospect of conviction, leading some critics to argue how this case made it to the courts in the 1st place when there was no reasonable prospect of conviction. Premier Ford spoke out after the case was dropped, said people who break into somebody else's home need to pay the price, adding people will fight for their lives to protect their home and their families. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the U.S. is holding an Edmonton-born Canadian in what his fiancee says are harsh conditions. Curtis Wright has been living in the U.S. for about 30 years, but was stopped at the Houston airport over a high school drug conviction. The 39-year-old is trying to fight his detention as self-deporting back to Canada could jeopardize the shared custody of his two kids. And a new report said Rogers and Telus of Canada's most reliable mobile networks, but Bell wins for speed. Open Signal's annual ranking found Rogers and Telus tied with how often users can accomplish common tasks, but Bell maintained the best 5G download speeds of the major carriers, but was tied with Telus for top overall download speed.
