It's Friday, March 27th. Good morning. Welcome to the weekend. It's getting colder. Minus 9 now feels minus 16 in Newmarket Aurora. Gas down another $0.05 to $1.66. I'm Stacey Englehart. after recently falling 12, then rising 7, it's back down another five. Welcome back to the gas price roller coaster. Since the beginning of the month, it's up 30 cents from where it started. And while we're paying for it, none of it is any of the high-priced oil that resulted from the U.S.'s war with Iran. That has yet to be refined and delivered to the gas pumps. Lawyers for a Toronto police constable accused of leaking information to criminals in a corruption case is asking the court to reconsider the decision to deny him bail. Timothy Barnhart is one of eight officers charged last month in an organized crime and corruption investigation led by York Police. The federal government unveiled the 2026 budget. Looks like the deficit will get worse, to $13.8 billion in the upcoming year. It also allocates billions for what it calls high-growth industries, including AI, defense, and advanced manufacturing.
