York Regional Police have now identified 2 men who were shot and killed outside a home in Vaughan on Wednesday night. Police say 49-year-old Pascal Casciato and 34-year-old Christian Balcido were fatally shot while standing outside a home near Kaiser and Forest Drive around 5.30 P.m. Police say they believe the shooting was a targeted incident. On Wednesday night, a constable who spoke to reporters at the scene confirmed one of the men killed in the shooting resided at the home where the gunshots rang out. The other man also lived in the neighborhood. The officer noted police are trying to determine if there's a connection between the shooting and a vehicle fire that occurred around 12 kilometers away from the scene. The SUV was found engulfed in flames in the area of Huntington and Kirby Roads. The rising price of gas is showing no sign of slowing with road trip season just around the corner. Nygaard's appeal argued his sentence was excessive and that the trial judge made several errors in law, including the admission of expert testimony on the effects of trauma.
