Just weeks before school is set to end for the summer, nearly 250 educational staff with the York Region District School Board have been told they're losing their jobs ahead of the start of the upcoming school year. According to CUPE 1734, the union was told 249 positions being eliminated, including educational assistants, secretarial and admin staff, 6 tech workers and a few librarians.
