I'm Stacey Englehart. this looks like that one big storm students were hoping for. Most schools announced yesterday that they would be closing entirely, and because of it, exams are being postponed, so make sure you check ahead. But we do know among the schools closed include York Region Public Catholic, Toronto and Durham. Simcoe schools seem to be open today, and buses are apparently running. hundreds of flights were already canceled or delayed in the GTHA as it was hit with a blizzard. So cold, some municipalities were urging residents to stay home. Frigid temperatures caused by a polar vortex blanketed much of the country. Parliament reconvenes today after the holiday break. The Prime Minister met last week with his Liberal Cabinet ministers and his caucus to set out a path for the first session of 2026. The struggle of Canadian families to make ends meet in a turbulent economy is expected to be a key theme. And if you think it's been a long holiday break for the federal government, the provincial government is still on a break. Yeah, they get the whole winter off. They don't return until spring, March 23rd. A 14-week break, less than two months after resuming from their 19-week spring-summer break. And the Pizza Pops recall announced before Christmas has been expanded to include even more Pizza Pops products. They could contain E. coli. Canadian Food Inspection Agency said either throw it out or return it for a refund. Hot country sports. The Leafs still struggling for a win after losing four in a row. Yesterday, a 4-1 loss to Colorado. Leafs host Buffalo tomorrow at 7. In the NBA, the Raptors beat Oklahoma City 103-101. They host the Knicks Wednesday 7.30. In the AFC Championship, New England beat Denver in the NFC, Seattle beat the Rams. So New England plays Seattle for Super Bowl 60, February 8th in California. Hot country weather. Well, the cold snap continues. We've got flurries, windy. It'll feel minus 18 this afternoon. Tonight, flurries with a risk of frostbite. Still really windy. It'll feel minus 27.
