It arrived early yesterday morning and coincided with events held across the country to mark the 30th National Indigenous Peoples Day. A man from New Tecumseh has been charged with murder after a woman was shot inside a downtown Toronto apartment. Police called 9.30 Saturday morning and say 25-year-old Jaden Riley was arrested and charged. Police in southern Ontario say the driver of an SUV involved in a collision that killed 5 young siblings has died in hospital from his injuries. The 42-year-old from Brampton was the lone person in the SUV when it collided northwest of Kitchener last week with a passenger van carrying 10 people. Canada and Australia have reached an agreement allowing Canada to purchase key components for its new Arctic over-the-horizon radar system. The project is part of more than $6 billion investment to strengthen Canada's ability to detect and track air maritime threats. The radar network will include a series of sites in southern Ontario believed to be in Clearview Township and Kawartha Lakes and is expected to begin operating in 2029.
