It arrived early yesterday morning and coincided with events held across the country to mark the 30th National Indigenous Peoples Day. A man from New Tecumseh has been charged with murder after a woman was shot inside a downtown Toronto apartment. Police called 9.30 Saturday morning and say 25-year-old Jaden Riley was arrested and charged. Police in southern Ontario say the driver of an SUV involved in a collision that killed 5 young siblings has died in hospital from his injuries. The 42-year-old from Brampton was the lone person in the SUV when it collided northwest of Kitchener last week with a passenger van carrying 10 people. Canada and Australia have reached an agreement allowing Canada to purchase key components for its new Arctic over-the-horizon radar system. The project is part of more than $6 billion investment to strengthen Canada's ability to detect and track air maritime threats. The radar network will include a series of sites in southern Ontario believed to be in Clearview Township and Kawartha Lakes and is expected to begin operating in 2029. And in the WNBA tonight, the Toronto Tempo are in Atlanta 730. Hot country weather, mostly cloud cover today. There is a chance of showers late morning and in the afternoon, a high today of 22.
