York police trying to identify the man accused in a series of thefts in Newmarket. Police were called to six break-ins near Yonge and Mulock December 7th. Now police say the man would force his way into a business and target cash registers. The suspect between 5, 10 and 6 feet with a medium build was wearing a black jacket with a hood up, white gloves, a face mask and carried a black backpack. Police say the suspect appears to have impaired function of his left hand and walks slowly. Police in Durham renewing calls for information on a shooting at a casino that left a man dead two years ago and are adding a $25,000 reward for information in the case. 34-year-old Michael Ferdinand was fatally shot while working as a security guard at Pickering Casino Resort October 9, 2023. Police said the suspect was 17 at the time. Police have now released photos in a description and say the 20-year-old has ties to Toronto in Brampton.
