It's Tuesday, March 17th. Good morning. Happy St. Patrick's Day. It is cold. Minus 12 feels minus 21 in Newmarket, Aurora. Gas a buck 66. I'm Stacey Engelhart. Police in York Region need your help to find a missing senior. 78-year-old Carolyn hasn't been seen since Monday morning at about 7.50 near Yonge and Wellington in Aurora. She's described as 5'6, medium build, gray short hair, last seen wearing a black jacket, purple pajama pants, and black shoes. it certainly is bitterly cold this morning. A large portion of the province under another weather advisory, but it is expected to ease today. We're under a special weather statement, areas of Newmarket Aurora, strong winds and lake effect flurries expected today. not like we needed the reminder, but household debt is only getting worse. StatsCan said the amount Canadians owed relative to their income climbed for the 5th consecutive year. The ratio of household credit market debt was 177.2 percent. So basically, $1.77 in household debt for every dollar you earned, leaving you with 23 cents for every dollar you made. And it is St. Patrick's Day today. And here's a couple of fun facts you might not have known. St. Patrick was not Irish, nor was his name Patrick. He was a Roman-British slave named Maywin Suckat. And until 1970, pubs in Ireland were actually closed on the 17th because it was a religious holiday. And by the way, the very first St. Patrick's Day parade was not in Ireland. It was in New York City in 1762. Hot country sports, Leafs and Raptors both off last night. Preseason baseball, Jays beat Miami, World Baseball Classic semi-final. Italy lost to Venezuela 4-2. Tonight, the championship final will see the U.S. in Venezuela. NHL tonight, the Leafs host the Islanders at 7. In the PWHL, Toronto was in Boston at 7. And the Raptors are in Chicago tomorrow at 8.
