It's Wednesday, April 15th. Good morning, 10 degrees in Newmarket, Aurora. Gas up three cents, a dollar seventy-seven. I'm Stacey Englehart. Weather alerts were spanning southern Ontario. Now a rainfall warning has since ended in Simcoe County. We're still expecting some rain off and on today. At one point yesterday, Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for parts of southwestern Ontario near Windsor. They had a humid X of 31. We're also expecting a warm day today. Details in the forecast. York Police have charged 33 people with over 300 charges. After over 100 homes were broken into in the GTA, the four-month investigation started in November. Police said crime groups were responsible for break-ins. More than 2 million worth of valuables have been recovered. Federal Liberals will table their spring economic update coming up April 28th, giving Canadians a look at how the government is handling our money. The update is expected to highlight earlier spending promises, including a boost to the GST and a new plan to waive the federal fuel excise tax until Labour Day. And Ontario's Labour minister proposing a ban on employers who charge workers for mandatory uniforms. The change targets entry-level sectors like retail and hospitality, where employees have to pay out of pocket. The ban would apply to employer-specific uniforms that cannot reasonably be worn outside the job. Government is also looking at new rules for talent agencies, including commission caps. Hot country sports, baseball yesterday, the Jays beat Milwaukee 9-7 in 10 innings. That Rd. series continues at 7.40 tonight. NHL last night, Montreal lost to Philly. Vancouver beat LA in OT. Calgary and Winnipeg both lost. Leafs play their final game before they call it a season tonight. They're in Ottawa at 7.30. PWHL Toronto is in New York at 7.
