It's Wednesday, March 4th. Good morning, minus 2 in New Market Aurora. Gas jumped 6 cents to $1.42. I'm Stacey Englehart. So why the jump? The increase being blamed on the US and Israel attacking Iran. We're also being told now to brace for cyber attacks. Canada's digital intelligence agency is warning reprisals will very likely be due to what Iran perceives as Canada's public support of the military activity. Global Affairs Canada said more than 97,000 Canadians are registered in the Middle East as Iran's war against the U.S. and Israel enters day five. The U.S. government said it'll be doing this for a whole month. Prime Minister Carney said his support comes with regret. He said it appears the attacks broke international laws, adding no advance notice or engagement was given to Canada or the United Nations. York Police appealing to the public to identify 2 suspects in a homicide investigation in Vaughan. Police said officers found a 65-year-old with gunshot wounds after responding to a shooting at a commercial plaza in Woodbridge. Anybody with information is asked to contact police. And a new survey suggests about 3 million Canadian adults currently taking a GLP-1, like an Ozempic or Mounjaro. Poll conducted by Leger said more than half of those surveys reported decreased appetite. And keep in mind, while the drug might help you lose weight, there are deadly side effects, including pancreatitis, intestinal blockage, kidney failure, severe hypoglycemia, thyroid cancer, blindness, oh, and sudden death. According to 2024 stats, in just the U.S. alone, 80 people just suddenly died. Hot Country Sports, NHL last night, a full slate of games, including Montreal lost to San Jose 7-5. Winnipeg beat Chicago in overtime. Calgary lost to Dallas. Ottawa lost to Edmonton and OT. The Leafs are in New Jersey tonight at 7. PWHL, Toronto lost to Montreal 4-3 in a shootout. The Raptors lost to the Knicks, won 11-95. They're in Minnesota tomorrow. And preseason baseball, the Blue Jays beat Team Canada 10-7. The Jays are off today. Hot country weather, sunny and five this afternoon. Tonight clear minus 7 with a wind chill of minus 12. Mostly cloudy tomorrow. Rain late in the afternoon, but a high of plus 4. Right now it's minus 2 in Newmarket Aurora. I'm Stacey Engelhart.
